Welcome!

I have been writing a lot of the content you’ll see here for some years, and I am so excited to share it with you!  I have been so blessed to learn so much about Jesus over the past 10+ years and one of the greatest things has been to see everything in relation to Christ, who he is and what he’s done for us.  “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things were created through him and for him.  And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:16-17).

There are so many opportunities in our lives to see God in everything.  I saw this just today, as one of my daughters took a small peach off of a tree that wasn’t ready to be picked yet.  As I was explaining to her that now the fruit is going to be wasted and won’t be good to eat, she told me “but mom, I’m going to wait for it to grow.”  “It won’t grow now”, I told her.  And my neighbor said “the fruit has to stay attached to the vine in order to grow”.  Huh…I now understood John 15:4 in a different way than I had before.  “I am the vine; you are the branches.  Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing”.  As Christians, if we aren’t connected to Jesus, abiding in him in all things, we won’t grow, we won’t become the fruit we are intended to be.  I am so thankful for that simple illustration and visual lesson I will forever remember.

This was also an excellent opportunity to teach my daughter directly from the story of Adam and Eve, as I specifically told her not to take the fruit from the tree and sure enough she did what she wanted and took it anyways!

Our God loves us so much that he weaves these moments into our days to turn our hearts towards him.  As we abide in Christ, the Holy Spirit reveals these moments and we can see Jesus and know him more fully.  My prayer and my dream for this blog is to share these moments with you, in the hopes that the love and joy that come from my experience may fan the flames within you to know and experience Jesus all the more.
